Schools and Museums

Are you considering adding more learning and educational events?  We can help. We can work with corporates, historical events and historical places to provide a number of activities from lectures, demonstrations, workshops or handling sessions.

We offer a range of tailored options for schools (covering all age groups), educational facilities and museums in the South East of England.

These can be bespoke workshops, for example, talks relating to the weapons we study or, their use in combat.

Talks and weaponry handling

I will bring a bunch of medieval weaponry (The Table of Carnage) and will talk about:

** How to become a Knight
** How these weapons were used
** Some of the available sources (Fight books)
** Self defence in the medieval period

There will also be some (safe) weapons handling and a Q and A session. Some of the items we have for handling are ones that normally can only be seen behind glass in a museum, so this is a very unique and fun experience.

Experience time: Flexible

Sword workshop for up to 15 people

I can also offer a full-on sword workshop (which is almost like one of our standard basic classes). Specific content can be discussed.

Experience time: The sword workshops tend to run for 90 mins including a Q and A session.

Notes: Attendees to this event need to be over the age of 13 due to the weight of the swords. No special clothing is required except for close-toed shoes. No protective gear is required as this is a no-contact event.

Recent Events

I have recently run:

** a Knight school for kids in Rochester Castle, Kent
** a Workshop for a group of home school kids in Sandwich, Kent
** WW2 Japanese sword combatives
** “How to be a Knight” workshops at a Primary school in Cliftonville, Kent
** Dagger workshop for medieval history academics at the University of Kent in Canterbury for their MEMsFest…
Drop us a line with your ideas and I am sure can accommodate your requirements. My main focuses are the Medieval period both in Europe and Japan.
