Overview
Forget the treadmill. Sword Flow takes the guards, cuts, turns and footwork of 15th-century longsword fighting and links them into a flowing, full-body workout. You’ll build shoulder strength, core stability, leg power and cardio fitness, and you’ll learn the moves knights actually trained.
Every class is led by an experienced historical fencing instructor, and we provide all the swords you need.
What to expect
- Guards and footwork: Learn the classic medieval stances and how to move like a swordsman.
- Cutting rounds: High-intensity intervals of powerful sword strikes.
- Turn and strike: Dynamic pivots and lunges that fire up your legs and core.
- Zwerchhau finisher: Sword-in-hand conditioning built around one of the longsword’s signature cuts. Your shoulders will feel it.
- The routine: End every session by performing a choreographed sword sequence.
Who it’s for
Anyone who wants a workout that’s genuinely different. Total beginners are welcome, and every exercise has a lighter and a harder option. Existing sword folk will find it a great way to build conditioning.
