Home Education Groups

Are you considering adding more learning and educational events?  Historical Swordsmanship Workshops for Home Education Groups

At Canterbury Medieval Combat, we offer immersive workshops and classes designed specifically for schools and educational groups, including home education communities. Our sessions allow students to step into history by learning the art of medieval European or Japanese combat (so they can learn about Knights or Samurai of Feudal Japan) through safe and engaging swordplay, using historically accurate techniques.

We offer two primary options for home school groups:

Introductory Taster Sessions

Perfect for groups seeking a one-time event or to explore historical swordsmanship for the first time. These sessions cover the basics of medieval martial arts, giving students the chance to experience combat techniques using synthetic swords in a safe and structured environment. Duration: 1 Hour

Workshops

For groups interested in a more in-depth experience, we offer ongoing classes that dive deeper into the historical context, techniques, and skills of medieval combat. These workshops can be tailored to fit your group’s schedule and educational goals, helping students develop coordination, discipline, and a greater appreciation for history.  Duration:  2 Hours

Recent workshops and talks have included:

How to be a medieval knight
The weapons of the samurai
How to fight like a pirate

All our sessions are led by trained instructors with a passion for bringing history to life through physical activity. We maintain a safe and controlled environment, ensuring that students of all ages can participate and have fun while learning valuable lessons in history and martial arts.

Please let me know if you would be interested in setting up a taster session or discussing a custom event for your group. I’d be happy to answer any questions or provide further details.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
